Calligrapher and skin artist Hafiz Mehmed Tevfik Efendin's son Emin Barın was born on 2 June 1913 in Bolu. At the age of seven, he began to take line lessons from his father. In 1932 he graduated from Istanbul Muallim Mektebini, and in 1936 he completed the Department of Painting and Business of Ankara Gazi Finishing Institute.
At the same time, the master learned Reisulhattatin Kamil Akdik and Necmettin Okyay learned classical Turkish skinbuilding art. He concentrated his studies on classical celî dîvanî and kufi and their contemporary interpretations and creations. He also received his hat icazet from İsmail Hakkı Altunbezer. The scholarship exam, which was opened by the Ministry of National Education, won the examination and was sent to Germany to specialize in line and skin. He won first prize at the Hamburg Book Exhibition with the Olympic Book he made while he was in Germany. In 1939, he entered the Book and Art Academy in Leipzig and studied bookbinding lessons. Emin Bar made the writing and the skin works of the charity given by the German Federation of Fisheries to Göring.
In 1943, he returned to Turkey and opened a line and skin exhibition at Istanbul State Fine Arts Academy. Emin Barın, who served as a lecturer in the Department of Decorative Arts, won the first prize in 1958 at the international Brussels exhibition with the book of Fatih Divan. In 1969 he went to Lisbon to work on the restoration of some Turkish-Islamic artifacts damaged by floods. At the Dublin art academy in 1977, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in 1983, at the Münster in 1985, and in 1986 at the Islamic Cultural Center for the second time. In 1984, Emin Barın won the İş Bank Grand Decoration Grand Prize in 1984 with his work Ya Rahim. Especially in kufi and celi divani writings he gave beautiful works with new interpretations.
He also paid attention to his work based on free understanding. The writings of Islamabad Cultural Center, the writings of Anıtkabir, the grave writings of Yunus Emre and the texts of the conference hall of KocatepeCamii in Ankara are his important works.
Emin Barın, who died in 1987, has over 200 works. He wrote many diplomas, certificates and diplomas to many heads of state, universities, various institutions. Among Yapı Kredi Culture and Art Publications, Prof. A book entitled "A Yazı Sevdalısı: EMİN BARIN", which was received by Önder Küçükerman, was published in 2002.
